Card Player Italia è nata nel settembre 2006 ed è stata la prima rivista italiana di poker.
Una delle prime in Europa a detenere in esclusiva i diritti del colosso americano Card Player, la rivista di poker numero uno al mondo, CPI fu fondata da Luca Pagano e Max Pescatori con il preciso obiettivo di divenire presto sinonimo di “Poker Authority” italiana.

Alberto Russo è stato uno dei soci fondatori di Card Player Italia e Direttore Editoriale della stessa per il primo anno di vita (settembre 2006 - settembre 2007).

October is set to see the debut of Italy’s first poker magazine, CardPlayer Italia. Founded by several of Italy’s top poker players, the new magazine will feature interviews and exclusive poker content from Card Player magazine.
Led by chairman and 2006 World Series of Poker bracelet winner, Max Pescatori, a talented and experienced group of professional players are ready to bring the Italian public its first look at poker on a international scale. With an all-star cast of Italian players like President Luca Pagano, general manager Albert Russo, editor-in-chief Enrico Delfino and contributing consultants like Marco Traniello, CardPlayer Italia looks to have the mettle to make it in the competitive publishing world.
CardPlayer Italia will be available in all Italian casinos, many private poker clubs and by subscription. The magazine will also be available at casinos that border Italy in places like Slovenia and Switzerland.
